Community Services
Public Safety
The UNA is committed to helping facilitate public safety and emergency preparedness. In case of emergency or to report a crime, please call 9-1-1. The RCMP University Detachment can be contacted at 604.224.1322.
Garbage Removal
The UNA looks after the removal of garbage from all outdoor waste receptacles within its jurisdiction. Garbage is picked-up on a weekly basis, except for high-traffic areas where it is removed more frequently. For residential garbage information, please get in touch with your building’s Strata management team. For questions regarding garbage removal, please contact operations@myuna.ca.
Child Care
The UNA, in partnership with UBC and the YMCA, provides child care with priority for families who do not work or study at UBC. This is intended to complement the services provided by UBC Child Care Services.
- Wesbrook Child Care Centre is a new addition to the Wesbrook Community Centre. Opened in 2020, the facility accommodates 49 child care spaces for infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children.
- Vista Point Child Care offers 25 spaces for children ages 30 months to five years and is located within the East Campus neighbourhood.
- Before- and After-School Care Program is offered at the Wesbrook Community Centre and Old Barn Community Centre. Priority is given to residents with no affiliation to UBC.
All child care services offered by the UNA are operated by the YMCA of Greater Vancouver.
