Road Closures: Water Main Replacement on 16th Ave.

Starting April 15 to June 30, a water main replacement project along 16th Ave. from Wesbrook Mall to Binning Road will result in some road closures. UBC Campus + Community Planning is working closely with the project team to minimize disruptions, however, delays should be anticipated.

Update: The final phase of the 16th Ave Water Main Replacement Project is starting from July 29, 2024. The impacts include:

• The northbound closure of Wesbrook Mall will be in place:
  • Affecting vehicle and pedestrian access to and from Wesbrook Commercial + Retail Area
  • Expect delays due to road closures
• Crosswalk on 16th Ave at Binning Road will be temporary closed.
• Binning Road access to 16th Ave exit will be closed.
• Bus Stop 51484 on 16th Ave eastbound will be temporarily closed.

UBC Facilities will be flushing the system prior to and throughout this work. You may experience mild discolouration in your water source or minor water pressure variances. The water remains safe for use and consumption.
