Event Advisory: UBC Triathlon/Duathlon 2024

The UBC Triathlon Duathlon will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

This is a large annual event expecting a maximum of 1000 participants from across Vancouver and UBC.

Event Details

• Registration, start of run and finish line at University Commons
• Hawthorn Place will be a quiet zone with no water zones or spectators
• Sound system will be used at levels heard in the immediate area. Classes will not be disturbed
• First aid will be onsite
• Prepackaged granola bars, fruit, energy drinks and water will be served

Details on the road closures (See map below):

• East Mall will be CLOSED from Thunderbird Boulevard to West 16th Avenue
• West 16th Avenue will be CLOSED westbound only from East Mall to SW Marine Drive
• SW Marine Drive will be CLOSED northbound only from West 16th Avenue to Stadium Road
• SW Marine Drive southbound lanes will be CLOSED from West 16th Avenue to Kullahun Drive.
