Update: A New Old Barn

Updates and renovations are in full swing at the Old Barn Community Centre. We are excited to share some updates in the progress of the work that’s taking place.

Fitness Centre Renovation

Old equipment have been removed and all required painting have been completed. A deep-clean of the facility is being scheduled and the set-up of new equipment will happen soon.

Living Room Renovation

Updates to the living room are almost done and finishing touches are underway (i.e. securing area rugs to the floor and installing the TV and sound system). All new living room furniture have been installed including couches, chairs and coffee tables. The space has been subdivided to create small, medium and large areas for gathering. UNA staff are aiming to open the living room by October 13, 2023.

A/V Equipment Upgrade

A brand-new projector and audio-visual hardware are being installed in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2. There has been a slight delay in the progress of the installation due to some missing parts in the A/V equipment. Meeting Rooms 1 and 2 are open and temporary A/V equipment are available to use until the installation is finalized.

Roof Replacement

Development permits for the roof replacement are expected to be finalized by October 6. All contractors are ready to begin work as soon as the necessary permits are in place. The roof replacement will take 3-4 weeks to complete once work begins.
