UNA Society Membership
Learn more about our society structure and what it means to be a UNA Society Member.
In order to participate in the UNA’s governance activities, such as general meetings and Board elections, a person must first become a UNA Society Member.
To be eligible to be a member, a person must be:
Confirm Your UNA Society MembershipYour UNA Society Membership is tied to your home address. If you have participated in UNA Board Election before and still live in the same address, chances are you are already registered as a UNA Society Member. If you are unsure, you can confirm that you are an active UNA Society Member by checking online, by contacting us or by visiting us in-person:
If you have moved but still reside in one of the local areas or designated buildings, you must update and verify your address if you have not yet done so. You can do this my contacting support@myuna.ca or in-person at the Wesbrook Community Centre and the Old Barn Community Centre. Please bring your address verification documents when visiting us in-person. |

From time-to-time, the UNA will contact Society Members by email or by mail. Members may be contacted for the following reasons:
During these elections, candidates who are running will be allowed access to Society Members’ contact information (as per the BC Societies Act). Candidates may send you information about themselves and their platform using their campaign email or personal email address. The information they will send you could help you make informed decisions when voting.
No. There is no connection between a UNA Society Membership and the UNA Card. The UNA Card only allows the card-holder access to additional facilities managed by UBC and the Vancouver Public Library which the UNA has service agreements with.
Not necessarily, however, if you are eligible, you can use your UNA Account to apply for/manage your UNA Society Membership. Your UNA Account can also be used to manage your UNA profile, contact information and other UNA services such as recreation program registration and parking.
They are the same. We have changed the language a little bit to provide a bit more clarity moving forward. A lot of residents have gotten the UNA Membership confused with other service memberships that the UNA provides (e.g. fitness membership).
